The Lebanon State Airport runway will be closed for airport construction until the evening of Aug 26th.  We will be closed  again on Aug 30th & 31st for strip painting.  Then again on Sept 26th & 27th for hydro seeding.  The LebanAir office and fuel pumps are still open during our normal hours.  If you have any question about this closure, you are welcome to call us at 541-258-5029.

Congratulations to Wes Strubhar for being the first student pilot earn his private pilot license with all his training provided by LebanAir Aviation.  We have trained many pilots who started at other places and came to us to finish, but Wes is the first to start and finish at LebanAir. Wes passed his private pilot check ride on July 22, 2011!

I finally got our new weather station installed and working and integrated into our website. This new weather station feeds near live weather data to the LebanAir website so that pilots can check out weather on the same page as our webcam! Check it out and let me know what you think! The next change, will be mounting the webcam where we can get a full 360° view of the airport and sky.

Notice: Jun 18 provided us with some pretty crappy weather, and we only served one pie. So we have lots of pie left and are extending the fly for pie until the pie is gone. So if you are feeling like you could use a piece of pie today, just come on down! See you soon!

We regret to inform you that the North Bend Regional Airport (OTH) is now imposing landing/use fees to all GA aircraft that use the airport. As GA pilots and an FBO who care about the continuation and prosperity of general aviation, we support, encourage and urge you to join us in an ALL GA aircraft/pilot boycott of the North Bend Regional Airport (OTH) due to their recent imposition of these new fees. These landing/use fees are NOT good for GA as an industry, nor for GA pilots and passengers.

Here is a link to the landing/use and overnight fees that YOU will now have to pay, simply for landing at the North Bend Airport. PLEASE discontinue your use of this airport until they drop the landing/use fees.

Portland Rose Festival Fleet NOTAM
Notice Number: NOTC3004

A NOTAM will soon be published concerning operations in the vicinity of the Portland Rose Festival Fleet while in the constricted waters of the Columbia and Willamette Rivers.  The US Navy (USN) and Coast Guard (USCG) vessels are scheduled to make a port of call during Portland’s Rose Festival June 8-13, 2011.  One day before, during, and one day after the event, vessels transit and dock in the constricted waters of the Columbia and Willamette Rivers.  Because of the restricted waterways, the USN and USCG are on heightened alerts at all times.  To prevent ships’ personnel from having to make a shoot/don’t shoot decision regarding suspicious aircraft, pilots are strongly advised to maintain a discrete distance from USN and USCG vessels.

If you or someone you know has been waiting for a private pilot ground school class to start, you’re in luck!  There is a new class starting at LebanAir Aviation.

When: Thursday evenings starting June 2nd, for 12 weeks.

Time: 6:00pm

Where: LebanAir Aviation class room. Lebanon, OR

Cost: $20 per night.  Textbooks and pilot tool kit can be purchased for $200 or can be borrowed and returned after the class (if they are returned in new condition).

You know spring time is here when LebanAir pulls the Mazda Miata convertible courtesy car out of the hanger and puts it back online! Oh, and did I mention that spring time is HERE?!
